The CFI Podcast: 2022 year in review and 2023 outlook with Chris Duncan

December 21, 2022  By Canadian Forest Industries Staff

It seems like the Canadian forest industry has seen everything in 2022: global inflation; severe weather events such as wildfires, hurricanes, flooding; fibre supply shortage; temporary production curtailments and permanent closures, labour shortage, but also great opportunities such as mass timber projects and technological innovations across the industry.

In this podcast, CFI editor Jennifer Ellson speaks with Chris Duncan, national leader of forestry and forest products services at MNP. Chris gives us an overview of the highs and lows of Canada’s forest sector in 2022 and how companies have reacted to the market impact of these developments. This podcast also discusses thoughts on the industry outlook for 2023 and the key issues and opportunities that may impact companies in the next year.
